There are a lot of things that justify asking someone to change their behavior or even to leave the gym: not wiping benches, being "the guy" who grunts loudly on each rep, curls up in a crouch, and more - the list goes on.
But a woman showing some skin shouldn't be one of those things, especially not in 2020. And that's exactly what happened to a sports patron in Australia recently.
Gabi Goddard said on her Instagram stories, which you can see by clicking here, that the owner of Hornsby 24/7 Gym in Australia asked her to change - supposedly because of a high school teacher overseeing some teenagers , had complained that Goddard "showed too much skin."

Goddard says it was hot in the gym that day and the air conditioning wasn't working (not that she had to defend that outfit anyway). Rightly shaken by the request, Goddard complained to the headmaster about the teacher's alleged actions.
"I am appalled that your school has been talking about the choice of clothing (and freedom of movement) of an independent woman," she wrote in her letter to the headmaster, which you can see on the Instagram stories.
We're going to make a brief story brief here: teacher actually complained about the outfit. Goddard later learned that it was the gym owner who thought she was showing too much skin, and the owner had reached out to the teacher and asked if they too thought this was "inappropriate." The teacher agreed, but never asked Goddard to change her outfit.
Goddard has since switched gyms and received several comments on the exchange. While most have received them positively and supportively, some haters take the gym owner's side.
Call us crazy, but there's nothing scandalous about her outfit at all. It's crazy to think that in 2020 women can still be called to something so simple.
