Sara Spencer has always been an athlete, but she hasn't felt this way recently. She was overweight and felt how this affected her daily life and her progress in the gym.
"I knew I had to change my life if I was tired all the time," the Maine resident told M&F. "My clothes were so tight and I was struggling to get ahead in CrossFit."
Knowing that a change in her diet was appropriate, she decided to sign up with Trifecta Nutrition, a grocery company that offers calorie-conscious organic meals right on your doorstep. Trifecta also offers a health and fitness app to track food intake and exercise, as well as nutritional recommendations from top professionals.
For Sara, Trifecta's Paleo plan worked best. "I make the paleo meals because they go really well with my weight loss macros," she says. “I'm a big vegetable lover anyway and the combination of different types of meat, fish and vegetables and a little starch is so filling. They give me a good combination of different things every week and it doesn't get boring. "

Eating alone, she says, helped her feel better. Trifecta later offered her another way to reach their goal weight with the TrifectaMe 90 Day Challenge, a 12 week challenge designed to help people achieve their fitness goals.
Each challenge begins with the participants uploading their before-photo to the Trifecta app by the start date. Each person then tracks their daily progress - such as: B. Exercise and food intake - in the app and upload your after-photo at the end of the 90 days.
In the end, a jury will select a winner based on their participation in the challenge and their overall transformation. The winner receives a free year of Trifecta food.
Sara chose it. “I've seen the athletes specifically CrossFit athletes who advocated it, and I knew I could do anything for 90 days if I give it up,” she says. “The most fun was collecting all points every day and seeing my progress diagrams. The biggest challenge was also tracking every day as I don't think I have ever consistently followed anything for 90 days. It's what works, so it's very important. "
It definitely worked for Sara - she lost 30 pounds in the 90 days and was declared the winner of the final challenge.
The next challenge starts on August 27th and she believes that anyone who wants a change in their life should sign up. "The challenge makes it so much easier to show you your macros and calories, scan your foods, log your foods, and track your weight and water," says Sara. "The 90 days went by so quickly for me and when I look back I am so grateful that I made that decision that day because I am in a much better place now."
Sara signed up for the next challenge as she wants to lose another 20 pounds and build serious muscle.
She also shared her five weight loss and weight loss tips.
- Do not be afraid and just do it.
- Track everything you eat and drink even when you don't want to. You can really see what changes to make and what makes a difference on the scale or in the mirror.
- Always try to be as prepared as possible to have the food you need with you. That's what Trifecta is for - to make preparation easier. Avoiding temptation is so much easier when you have what you need.
- Find a trainer or friend to talk to about your progress and who will encourage you along the way. I had, and it made a huge difference if I moved forward when I wanted to stop sometimes.
- Have fun with the challenge. I've really done it and tried to score as many points as possible every day and that's really a big boost.
