The new Fitibit Charge 5 builds on the extended functions of the previous model and offers a slimmer, rounder body and new straps. A more efficient (but also brighter) AMOLED color screen has been added, allowing for up to seven days of battery life.
The Fitbit Charge 5 also has some celebrity chutzpeh behind it, with Will Smith saying it helped him lose his "father body" (he took to Instagram earlier this year to admit he was in the worst shape of his life was). The new Fitbit model is not just a normal tracker. In addition to the normal health data that most trackers evaluate, such as steps, fitness, sleep, and general well-being, buyers get a free six-month trial of Fitbit Premium, a new service that gives them health and fitness advice and access to. offers more than 500 workouts, mindfulness and nutrition sessions.

With the daily standby feature, Charge 5 will tell you every morning whether your body is ready to sweat or if a recovery session is needed instead. When you wake up, you will be given a rating based on your fitness fatigue (previous activity), heart rate variability, and sleep quality. Analysis of how you achieved this score will also be available, along with health and fitness suggestions such as a recommended goal for exercise and workouts or sessions that can help you make the right decisions for your body that day.
The updated device also tracks stress, breathing rate, changes in skin temperature, and oxygen saturation in your blood. The Charge 5 offers GPS, 20 training modes, automatic training detection and a V02 max estimate and has access to the EKG app while monitoring heart health 24/7 and sending notifications to you when your heart rate is above or below personal Area falls.

The Fitbit Premium free trial will also include an exclusive series of content developed with Will Smith, due out September 27th. She will include video sessions with Smith and his training team as well as other health and wellness programs focused on focusing on physical and mental strength.
