There are many things to do when in Las Vegas for the 2022 Olympics weekend. You can watch all the competitions, visit the expo, meet your favorite athletes and stars and then you will definitely want to train. Hotel gyms are great, but it would be nice to go to a gym that has the dedicated bodybuilder in mind.

Luckily, Yak's Fitness Town Square is one such gym, and it's the official gym for this year's Olympic weekend. It is less than 4 miles from Planet Hollywood and the Venetian on the Las Vegas Strip. Owner Chris Yakimchuk has two locations in the city, and the Town Square location was originally built before the pandemic but officially opened this year. Yakimchuk also has a strong connection to bodybuilding. This connection dates back over 25 years and originated in Canada.
"I did my first show in 1996. So I started bodybuilding," Yakimchuk said. "It has always been my passion."
Yakimchuk later became a national judge and president of the Saskatchewan Amateur Bodybuilding Association. His then-wife Shelly even became an IFBB pro. After originally opening a gym in his home country, he moved to Las Vegas, where he now resides. He designed his gym with the bodybuilder in mind. Aside from the top-notch facilities, it has a smoothie bar, tables and chairs for guests to take their meals, and even a posing room for competitors and coaches who want to make sure they're on point before taking the stage enter.
"I'm not trying to compete with anyone. We always carry the torch for being the cleanest gym," he said proudly. "After 12 years of operation at the gym, it takes a lot to keep this torch, but we do."
There are many gyms in Las Vegas, which has become a bodybuilding hotspot, but having access to a gym just down the road from the Olympia saves time and energy that could be better spent working out. Yakimchuk invites athletes and fans alike to pay him a visit to benefit from the motivation that is sure to increase seeing the best of the best compete on the Olympic stage.
