Trent Ward is the founder and CEO of Forme (formelife.com), which makes smart fitness mirrors and offers subscription services like live coaching and on-demand classes.
I met Trent in NYC and had the opportunity to experience the Forme Lift hands-on. I've been skeptical of smart mirrors in the past - I own one and have turned it on five times... if ever. Still, Forme's hardware was impressive and elegant; and more importantly, I liked how it offered up to 200 pounds of total resistance (100 per arm) and offered live coaching via a 4K screen for people who aren't fans of on-demand workout videos.
I spoke to Ward about his journey as a first-time CEO, how he is raising awareness of Forme in a crowded market and what the plan is for his company when the economy falters and enters a recession.
